The boot is compatible with strap-on and hybrid crampons if you're really getting after it. Features a heavy duty rubber toe for kicking in on tough climbs, a negative forward lean option for more comfort while hiking, and Nitro's Therminator Shield to keep your bindings from acting like a heat sink. Endure® Gravity foam Toe Protection Hike 'N' Ride Construction A construction made specifically for making the transition and performance between hike and rode mode easier and more beneficial for the rider (together with the forward lean adjustment and auto power strap). Hike mode offers a softer flex and ride mode is more responsive and rigid flex. Adjustable Forward Lean For adjusting the flex and response of the boot for riding mode (stiffer) or hike mode (looser). Molded Spine Protection A flexible molded spine made of a TPR compound that is softer to allow for an even pressured lace closure, while providing medium flex and durability to the shape and spine of the boot. Flex Link Design A flexible panel at the ankle between the upper and lower shell ensures an even flexing, responsive boot without the bulk. Power Tongue Stiffener in 2 Flexes For those looking for adjustable stiffness throughout the day or season, you can use the removable tongue stiffener to change between premium precision or more of a relaxed feel. From the steep and deep to the groomers, you can customize your boot feel perfectly for your style. Air Dampening Nitro's trusted AIR suspension technology is now featured on even more models. The best shock absorbing technology on the planet sucks up hard landings and keeps your heels from getting bruised. This noticeable different in ride and comfort does not compromise response or control. Internal Ankle Support An anatomically shaped molded plate distributes lace pressure over the instep/ankle area for more comfort and a better, more precise fit. Lacing Auto-Power Strap An adjustable power strap located on the top part of the boot shell, that can be easily adjusted, opened and closed through a simple belt ring design. If you want a more responsive fit from the top of your boot, then you tighten it. If you want a looser fit or feel, you can loosen it or remove the power strap entirely. TLS (Twin Lacing System) Nitro, leading the pack with the TLS lacing system: Easy lace engagement and release, combined with the low abrasion of Dyneema® laces are the key factors of this highly reliable zonal lacing system. At the same time, TLS features compact size and low weight while maintaining the reliability proven by tens of thousands of days on the mountain. Servicing and replacement of parts, though rarely needed, is easier than with any other system on the market, and in a pinch you can even use a standard lace. Easy-entry handle storage pockets as well as the Bail Out system for easier entry and exit round off the most developed dual lacing system on the market. Bail Out System Designed to make unlacing the TLS system even easier. This pull tab that is placed in the middle of the TLS lacing system on the outside of the boot allows for effortless unlacing and record breaking speeds for taking your boots off. ILS (Internal Lacing System) The ILS system features a lacing harness firmly connected to the boot shell. This harness snugly wraps around the liner, securing it in the shell and providing precise lacing and fit. Nitro's engineered ILS laces provide less friction and a Dyneema® core for added strength. Re/Lace Liner Locker Another innovation from the friendly R and D department at Nitro: the Re/Lace Liner Locker provides easy adjustability of your inner boot lacing when your boot shell is already tightened (tied), by just pulling up on the lace handle. This allows you to (re)tighten your liner and foothold throughout the day (whenever you may find yourself on the mountain) without having to untie your boot. 45° Laceglider This precision-molded low-friction plastic insert is positioned at the crucial 45° lacing position in the ankle area. It drastically reduces lace friction and makes typing up your TLS system even easier. New Solo Laceglider Molded TLS Lace Handles Insole Ortholite® Dual Density Footbed for top notch control and cushioning Midsole Cut and Buff EVA Midsole On the Incline boot, Nitro uses a Cut and Buff EVA Midsole construction, providing a better foothold in technical passages and making the sole narrower for a perfect fit for various crampon shapes. Therminator Shield This thermal layer between the sole and liner will reflect your body heat and keep your feet warm all day. Outsole Vibram® Backcountry Outsole Made of Icetrek™ Vibram® Compound and powered by Vibram® Arctic Grip™ Technology The Vibram® Arctic Grip™ technology compliments the outstanding performance of the Vibram® Icetrek™ Compound and extends it to wet ice surfaces. Vibram® Arctic Grip™ is made from a unique polymer blend, coupled with an advanced filler system and a new processing technique. The result is the most advanced cold weather gripping system ever created by Vibram. Weight N/A
